UCL Rugby Team Disbanded

Following Pi’s discovery about the University College London rugby team’s disbandment, we are
able to reveal that the team are facing disciplinary action from the Union over a few, complex
issues.

The team have seven days in which to appeal, although UCLU have told Pi that they continue to
uphold their decision to disaffiliate the team.

The rugby team are in the process of launching their appeal and as a result, Pi cannot yet disclose
the reasons behind the disbandment.

Neither the team nor the union are yet to make an official statement. Although, the team were under
a two year suspended disaffiliation sentence which may have been triggered, as a result of the
reported infringements by the team.

It has been a turbulent month for one of UCL’s largest sports teams; Varsity ‘the highlight of the
rugby season’ was banned in November, and with the cancellation of this week’s 2nds team match against
Kings, the future of UCL rugby seems uncertain.

Once the appeal has been decided, Pi media will be the first to bring you both sides of the story as
well as the reasons behind the proposed disbandment.

Look out as well for a special feature about the rugby team from Pi News and Pi Sports.
